Just before leaving for Christmas break, I made the draw in the catch and release contest. I have now finally got in touch with the winners of the the two season licenses given by Lakselv land owners association, and the two trips to Iceland given by Bergen Aktiv.
Large henfish before the 15th of July
Jan Bass was the first person whose name was drawn. Jan was presented the opportunity with either a season license in Lakselva or a trip to Iceland, and he picked Iceland. His winning contribution was this fish estimated to be around 9 kilo.
The next contribution to win was Joonas Järvenpää, and he automatically won the season license for 2018. His winning picture was of this 104 centimeter long fish.
In addition Michael Fagergren and Jean-Charles Morin wins a consolation price with each of their contributions.
Large salmon after the 15th of July
Francesco Cozzio was drawn as the first price winner in this category, and he chose the season license for Lakselva. Francesco’s contribution was this fish estimated to be 9 kilos.
The next contribution to win was Keith Johnson’s fish of 98 centimeters. This secured him a trip to Iceland.
Stephan Dombaj is the winner of a Vision flyfishing-set donated by Vision with this contribution. A fish weighed in a weighing net to be 19,2 kilos.
Additionally Håvard Steffenak and Mikko Virranniemi each geta consolation price for their contributions.
We thank you all for your contribution to the contest in 2017. Releasing salmon has proven a very important part in reaching our spawning targets, and we also se a lot of released fish surviving and returning to the river even bigger after a couple of years.
The contest will of course continue in 2018, and we look forward to many great contributions.
Congratulations to the winners!
